Job purpose
Own the definition and standardization of business context for data assets by establishing domain-specific taxonomies, metadata, and classification rules, ensuring data is accurately described, consistently classified, and easily discoverable across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Define and maintain business context classification by establishing standard taxonomies, document types, and asset classifications aligned to domain-specific requirements.
- Translate business knowledge into structured metadata, ensuring accurate representation of data meaning and improving search and discoverability.
- Validate classification outcomes to ensure alignment between business context and security labelling requirements.
- Collaborate with technical teams to refine classification logic and ensure consistency across domains.
- Manage business glossary, reference data, and taxonomy updates through controlled governance processes.
Key competencies
- Candidates should have a B.E./B.Tech/MCA/MBA in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field
- Demonstrates strong domain expertise with the ability to contextualize data within business processes and use cases.
- Possesses expertise in taxonomy design, data definition, and metadata standardization.
- Exhibits analytical thinking to resolve ambiguous classification scenarios and edge cases.
- Shows familiarity with data catalog tools and AI-assisted classification solutions, including required experience with Lightbeam AI.
- Demonstrates strong collaboration skills to align business and technology stakeholders.
- Analytical problem‑solving mindset with the ability to break down complex issues into actionable steps.
