About the Company
Rispri Labs is a NABL / ISO-IEC 17025 accredited environmental testing laboratory (part of Ram Chemical Enterprises, Agra, est. 1999), testing water, air, soil, microbiology, and noise for 200+ industrial and institutional clients. We're looking for a Field Chemist to carry out air monitoring, stack emission testing, and general environmental sampling at client sites — a mix of office and field work, with travel to site as scheduled.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field sampling and monitoring of ambient air, stack emissions, water/wastewater, soil, and noise at client sites, as per approved SOPs and standard test methods.
- Carry out Ambient Air Quality Monitoring (AAQM) — Particulate Matter (PM), SO₂, NOx, and other CPCB-specified parameters.
- Perform stack/chimney emission monitoring, including climbing stacks/chimneys when required.
- Handle, carry, and operate air monitoring kits and field instruments; check/calibrate instruments before each monitoring run.
- Take field measurements such as pH, temperature, conductivity, TDS, and dissolved oxygen as applicable.
- Properly label, preserve, pack, and transport samples to the lab, maintaining chain-of-custody documentation.
- Maintain sampling records, field observation sheets, monitoring forms, and daily field reports.
- Perform the technical calculations required for test reports — concentration/emission-rate calculations, unit conversions, and CPCB/regulatory limit comparisons from raw field and instrument data.
- Coordinate with client-site representatives during monitoring visits.
- Follow ISO/IEC 17025 quality procedures, safety protocols, and Rispri Labs' internal SOPs during all field work.
- Travel to project sites across the region as per the monitoring schedule.
Requirements
Essential
- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Environmental Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Physically fit for field work, including stack/chimney climbing.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
Desirable
- Prior experience in air monitoring, stack emission testing, or environmental sampling — freshers are welcome to apply and will be trained.
- Basic knowledge of environmental testing/laboratory practices and field instruments.
- Comfortable with the calculations behind test reports — unit conversions, concentration/emission-rate formulas, and comparing results against CPCB/regulatory limits.
- Working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel (for calculations and report formatting).
- Good observation, documentation, and communication skills.
