The Senior Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing the safe and effective dispensing of medications, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards, supervising pharmacy staff, maintaining inventory control, and providing pharmaceutical care to patients in coordination with healthcare professionals.
- Review and dispense prescriptions accurately in accordance with physician orders.
- Verify medication dosages, interactions, contraindications, and allergies.
- Provide medication counseling and education to patients and caregivers.
- Ensure adherence to hospital pharmacy policies, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor medication safety and report adverse drug reactions when necessary.
Pharmacy Operations
- Supervise daily pharmacy operations and workflow.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and labeling of medications.
- Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels of medicines and consumables.
- Coordinate procurement and replenishment of pharmacy inventory.
- Conduct regular stock audits and ensure compliance with inventory management procedures.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, train, and mentor pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff.
- Allocate duties and monitor staff performance.
- Assist in staff scheduling and manpower planning.
- Promote a culture of patient safety and continuous improvement.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with NABH, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and internal audits.
- Implement medication safety programs and best pharmacy practices.
Coordination & Communication
- Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings as required.
- Address medication-related queries from healthcare staff and patients.
Qualifications
- B.Pharm or M.Pharm from a recognized institution.
- Registered Pharmacist with the State Pharmacy Council.
- Certification in Hospital Pharmacy or Clinical Pharmacy will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of pharmacy experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Experience in supervising pharmacy operations and staff management is preferred.
Skills Required

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
