Job Summary
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and commissioning all electrical works associated with biogas plant construction projects. The role ensures that electrical installations are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, electrical standards, and statutory regulations. The engineer will work closely with civil, mechanical, instrumentation, and process teams to ensure successful project execution and plant commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution
- Supervise all electrical installation activities for biogas plant projects.
- Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), cable schedules, and technical specifications before execution.
- Ensure electrical works are executed according to approved drawings, project schedules, and quality standards.
- Coordinate installation of transformers, HT/LT panels, MCCs, PCCs, VFDs, DG sets, UPS systems, lighting, earthing, and lightning protection systems.
- Monitor project progress and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly execution reports.
Installation & Commissioning
- Supervise cable tray installation, cable laying, termination, and testing.
- Coordinate installation and commissioning of motors, pumps, agitators, blowers, gas compressors, CHP/biogas generators, and other electrical equipment.
- Verify proper installation of control panels and power distribution systems.
- Participate in pre-commissioning, energization, functional testing, and final commissioning activities.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues during installation and startup.
Quality Control
- Ensure compliance with approved electrical standards, drawings, and project specifications.
- Review inspection reports, test certificates, and quality documentation.
- Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, earth resistance, and functional tests.
- Coordinate inspections with clients, consultants, and quality teams.
Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, instrumentation, automation, and process engineering teams.
- Assist in project scheduling, resource planning, and material management.
- Monitor procurement and availability of electrical materials and equipment.
- Participate in progress review meetings and resolve technical issues.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and HSE requirements.
- Enforce Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures during installation and commissioning.
- Ensure statutory compliance with local electrical regulations and utility requirements.
- Promote safe work practices and conduct regular safety inspections.
Documentation
- Maintain installation records, inspection reports, and commissioning documentation.
- Prepare material reconciliation reports and contractor work verification.
- Assist in preparation of as-built drawings, operation manuals, and project handover documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 3–8 years of experience in industrial, renewable energy, power, wastewater treatment, or biogas plant projects.
- Experience in electrical installation and commissioning of industrial plants is preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical standards such as IEC, IEEE, NEC, or applicable local codes.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of HT/LT electrical systems, power distribution, and motor control.
- Experience with MCCs, PCCs, VFDs, PLC panels, transformers, generators, and electrical protection systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and single-line diagrams.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project planning tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and contractor management abilities.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in biogas plants, renewable energy, wastewater treatment plants, industrial utilities, or EPC projects.
- Familiarity with CHP systems, biogas generators, gas upgrading plants, electrical hazardous area installations, and plant automation interfaces.
- Experience coordinating with instrumentation and SCADA/PLC teams during commissioning.

- Successful energization and commissioning of plant systems.

Working Conditions
- Primarily site-based with travel to project locations as required.
- May require extended working hours during commissioning and project milestones.
- Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with site safety procedures.

Pay: ₹10,479.94 - ₹45,782.85 per month
