Job Summary
The Quality Controller is responsible for ensuring that garments meet the company's quality standards throughout the production process. The role involves inspecting fabrics, monitoring stitching and finishing quality, identifying defects, maintaining quality records, and ensuring that finished products comply with buyer specifications before dispatch.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-line and end-line quality inspections during garment production.
- Inspect incoming fabrics, trims, accessories, and finished garments as per approved quality standards.
- Identify stitching, measurement, fabric, printing, embroidery, washing, and finishing defects.
- Ensure garments comply with buyer specifications, approved samples, and quality manuals.
- Perform measurement checks using approved size specifications.
- Monitor production lines and provide immediate feedback to operators and supervisors on quality issues.
- Coordinate with Production, Merchandising, Cutting, Sewing, Finishing, and Packing teams to resolve quality concerns.
- Reject defective garments and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Prepare daily quality inspection reports and maintain quality documentation.
- Conduct final random inspections before packing and shipment.
- Support implementation of quality improvement initiatives to reduce rejection and rework.
- Ensure compliance with company quality systems, SOPs, and workplace safety standards.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of garment construction and sewing operations.
- Good understanding of AQL standards and garment inspection procedures.
- Ability to identify garment defects and recommend corrective actions.
- Knowledge of measurement checking and garment specifications.
- Familiarity with fabrics, trims, printing, embroidery, washing, and finishing processes.
- Good observation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prepare inspection reports and maintain quality records.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel and MS Word).
Qualification
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Textile, Fashion Technology, Apparel Manufacturing, or any relevant discipline.
- Candidates with relevant industry experience may also be considered.
Preferred Experience
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in Quality Control within the garment/apparel manufacturing industry.
- Experience in in-line, end-line, and final garment inspection.
- Knowledge of AQL standards, garment measurements, and buyer quality requirements.
- Experience in identifying and resolving quality issues during cutting, sewing, finishing, and packing processes.
- Familiarity with woven and/or knitted garment manufacturing.
- Proficiency in preparing quality inspection reports and coordinating with production teams to implement corrective actions.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
