Job Summary
The Commis I – Chinese Cuisine is responsible for preparing and cooking Chinese dishes as per hotel standards, maintaining food quality, hygiene, and kitchen safety. The role supports senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and ensures timely food production and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook Chinese dishes according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Assist in mise en place and food preparation for daily operations.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and portion control.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen work area.
- Follow HACCP, food safety, and sanitation standards.
- Properly store raw materials and food items to avoid wastage.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues.
- Coordinate with senior chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Monitor stock levels and inform supervisors of shortages.
- Assist during buffet, à la carte, banquet, and special events.
- Attend training sessions and follow management instructions.
- Maintain personal grooming and professional appearance at all times.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Hotel Management/Culinary Arts preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in Chinese cuisine in hotels or restaurants.
- Knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques, sauces, ingredients, and wok cooking.
- Good knife skills and food preparation knowledge.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and in shifts.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.

Salary Range
₹18,000 – ₹35,000 per month (depending on experience and hotel standards).
