Job Summary:
We are seeking a Library Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of the library office and assist in maintaining library records, circulation activities, and administrative coordination. The candidate will support students and faculty members in accessing library resources, maintain documentation, and ensure smooth functioning of library services. The role requires good organizational skills, basic computer knowledge, and the ability to manage library-related activities efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in daily library operations including issue, return, shelving, and arrangement of books, journals, and reference materials.
· Maintain library records, accession registers, inventory details, digital databases, and related documentation systematically.
· Support students and faculty members in locating and utilizing library resources effectively.
· Handle data entry, filing, documentation, and preparation of library-related reports.
· Assist in maintaining library discipline and ensuring proper usage of library facilities.
· Support stock verification, book labeling, cataloguing, inventory management, and procurement-related activities.
· Ensure proper maintenance and organization of bookshelves, reading areas, library materials, and records.
· Monitor stationery and office supply requirements related to library operations.
· Support library events, reading activities, exhibitions, and other academic initiatives.
· Perform general administrative and office assistance tasks assigned by the Librarian or Management.
Desired Candidate Qualification
· Higher Secondary (H.Sc) or Any Degree – mandatory.
· Minimum 2 years of experience in library administration or office support activities.
· Basic knowledge of library operations and documentation procedures.
· Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with MS Office applications.
· Good organizational and record-maintenance skills.
· Ability to maintain records and handle documentation accurately.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to support students, faculty members, and library staff effectively.
· Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of records.
· Experience in educational institutions/schools/colleges is preferred.
