Laparoscopic General Surgeon (Experienced in Gynecological Laparoscopic Procedures)

Job Summary
The Laparoscopic General Surgeon is responsible for providing comprehensive surgical care through minimally invasive (laparoscopic) and open surgical techniques. The surgeon will diagnose, evaluate, and manage patients requiring general surgical procedures and, where appropriately trained and credentialed, perform selected gynecological laparoscopic procedures in collaboration with the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. The consultant is expected to maintain high standards of patient safety, ethical practice, and quality clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients requiring general surgical intervention.
- Perform elective and emergency laparoscopic and open general surgical procedures.
- Conduct outpatient consultations (OPD), inpatient rounds, emergency assessments, and follow-up care.
- Perform pre-operative evaluation, obtain informed consent, and provide post-operative management.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, radiologists, physicians, gynecologists, and other specialists for multidisciplinary patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of clinical records, operative notes, and discharge summaries.

Gynecological Laparoscopic Procedures
(Only if the surgeon possesses appropriate training, certification, hospital credentialing, and legal authorization.)
- Diagnostic Laparoscopy for gynecological conditions
- Laparoscopic Ovarian Cystectomy
- Laparoscopic Salpingectomy
- Laparoscopic Management of Ectopic Pregnancy
- Laparoscopic Tubal Sterilization
- Laparoscopic Adhesiolysis for pelvic adhesions
- Other approved minimally invasive gynecological procedures within the scope of granted clinical privileges
Patient Safety & Quality
- Adhere to NABH standards, infection prevention protocols, and WHO Surgical Safety Checklist.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, ethical standards, and patient safety guidelines.
- Participate in clinical audits, morbidity and mortality meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Report adverse events and complications promptly according to hospital policy.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain complete and accurate medical documentation.
- Participate in departmental meetings, CMEs, and hospital committees.
- Supervise and mentor junior doctors, interns, and OT staff where applicable.
- Ensure appropriate utilization and maintenance of laparoscopic equipment.
Qualifications
- MBBS from a recognized medical college.
- MS/DNB in General Surgery.
- Fellowship or advanced training in Laparoscopic Surgery.
- Additional certified training and demonstrated competency in gynecological laparoscopic procedures (preferred).
- Valid National Medical Commission (NMC) and State Medical Council registration.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of post-qualification experience in laparoscopic general surgery.
- Proven experience in minimally invasive surgical techniques.
- Experience in gynecological laparoscopic procedures is desirable and subject to hospital credentialing.

Pay: ₹13,804.74 - ₹106,332.19 per month
