We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Central Store Pharmacist to manage the hospital's central pharmacy store operations. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in a hospital setting and possess strong knowledge of pharmaceutical inventory management, regulatory compliance, and stock control to ensure the uninterrupted availability of medicines and medical consumables.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Central Pharmacy Store.
Ensure timely receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of medicines, surgical items, and medical consumables.
Monitor inventory levels and maintain optimum stock to prevent shortages and overstocking.
Verify batches, expiry dates, and storage conditions as per hospital and regulatory guidelines.
Coordinate with pharmacy, purchase, finance, and clinical departments for smooth inventory management.
Prepare purchase requisitions based on consumption trends and stock levels.
Conduct periodic stock verification and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
Maintain accurate inventory records in the Hospital Information System (HIS)/ERP.
Ensure compliance with NABH standards, Pharmacy Act, and applicable statutory regulations.
Handle expired, near-expiry, and damaged stock according to hospital policies.
Generate inventory and consumption reports for management review.
Support audits and implement inventory control measures to minimize wastage.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Pharmacy (B.Pharm/D.Pharm).
Valid State Pharmacy Council Registration is mandatory.
Experience
2–5 years of experience as a Pharmacist in a hospital central store or hospital pharmacy.
Experience in multi-specialty or tertiary care hospitals is preferred.
Knowledge of NABH standards and hospital inventory management systems is an added advantage.
