Job Summary
The Fire Alarm & Fire Fighting Technician is responsible for installing, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing
fire alarm and fire-fighting systems. The technician ensures that all equipment remains operational, compliant with applicable
safety standards, and ready for emergency use.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test, commission, and maintain fire alarm systems, including control panels, smoke and heat
detectors, manual call points, sounders, modules, and related wiring.
- Maintain fire-fighting systems, including fire pumps, sprinkler systems, hose reels, hydrants, fire extinguishers,
valves, and associated equipment.
- Diagnose system faults and perform corrective and preventive maintenance.
- Conduct scheduled inspections and functional tests according to approved maintenance plans.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, cause-and-effect matrices, and equipment manuals.
- Test batteries, circuits, detectors, alarms, flow switches, pressure switches, and other system components.
- Support testing and commissioning activities with contractors, consultants, and relevant authorities.
- Maintain accurate service reports, inspection records, equipment logs, and material-consumption records.
- Ensure tools, spare parts, and testing instruments are maintained and available.
- Respond promptly to emergency alarms, system faults, and maintenance requests.
- Identify fire-safety risks and report defective or non-compliant equipment.
- Follow permit-to-work procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and workplace health and safety rules.
- Assist during fire drills, emergency-response activities, and regulatory inspections.
- Keep work areas clean, safe, and properly organized.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma, ITI, vocational certificate, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Fire and
Safety Engineering.
- At least 2–5 years of relevant experience in fire alarm and fire-fighting system maintenance.
- Practical knowledge of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
- Experience with fire pumps, sprinkler systems, hose reels, hydrants, extinguishers, and related equipment.
- Familiarity with applicable local fire codes and recognized standards such as NFPA is preferred.
- Relevant manufacturer training or fire-system certification is an advantage.
- A valid driving licence may be required, depending on the role.

- Ability to use electrical meters, detector testers, pressure gauges, and other testing equipment.
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits, mechanical systems, and control wiring.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in operational facilities.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or attend emergency call-outs when required.

- Working Conditions
- The role may involve standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, lifting equipment, working outdoors, and entering
- plant rooms or confined spaces. Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn at all times.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
