Position Overview:
Fabmax Enterprises, a leader in heavy fabrication and export projects, is seeking a Purchase Engineer to manage procurement activities for raw materials, consumables, and bought-out items. The candidate must have strong knowledge of the fabrication industry and materials used in heavy structural projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle procurement of raw materials including MS plates, structural steel, SS plates, and consumables.
- Source and negotiate with suppliers for bought-out items and fabrication-related materials.
- Ensure timely availability of materials as per project requirements.
- Maintain vendor records, purchase orders, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and accounts teams for smooth material flow.
- Track inventory levels and support audit-ready documentation.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in purchase/procurement within the fabrication/manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of steel grades, fabrication consumables, and vendor management.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/accounting software.
