About the Role
The BackEnd Engineer builds the Product backend services - Go microservices using the Echo framework that power the products. The engineer works across streams to extend framework components and deliver scalable, maintainable backend solutions.
Key Responsibilities
· Feature and Tech Implementations - Develop, test, and deliver backend tasks for components identified as part of task breakdown and estimation. This includes enhancing frameworks components, building Product-BFF REST APIs, and implementing microservice features across tracking, document, and integration streams.
· Tech Support - Provide installation, configuration, and operational support for backend services deployed within the demo and customer non-prod Kubernetes clusters.
· Task Breakdown & Estimation - Collaborate with Leads and other Engineers to prepare work breakdown structures and provide backend-specific task plans and estimates.
· Team Coordination - Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, and cross-stream sync meetings to ensure backend deliverables align with frontend timelines. Coordinate with QA for backend test strategies and integration testing.
· Collaboration & Reporting - Track progress in OpenProject/Jira (or similar tracking tools) and provide daily/weekly status updates. Ensure transparency around backend blockers, dependencies, and risks.
· Operations & Reviews - Participate in project reviews and ensure backend services comply with overall product goals.
· Reviews & Feedback - Perform peer code reviews on backend pull requests and follow up on feedback to ensure quality standards are met.
· Issue Triage & Problem Resolution - Assist in triaging backend bugs, performance issues, and service failures identified during testing and production support.
· Backlog Management & Grooming - Attend backlog grooming sessions with Product Owners, Architects, and Leads to understand technical requirements and scope for backend work.
Required Skills
· Back-End Technologies: Strong hands-on experience with Go and the Echo framework. Experience building REST APIs and microservices.
· Persistence Technologies: Experience with PostgreSQL (including graph capabilities) for relational data modeling and query optimization.
· Integration Technologies: Strong proficiency in API/REST design and integration; experience with Temporal (or similar) for workflow orchestration and notifications.
· DevOps Practice: Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI) and containerised deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
· Tools Proficiency: Proficiency with Git and project management tools.
· Systems Design: Working understanding of microservices architecture, service-to-service communication, and distributed systems patterns.
Preferred Skills
· Experience with S3-compatible object storage integration.
· Familiarity with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch for search indexing and RBAC-protected search.
· Experience with observability patterns (logging, metrics, distributed tracing).
· Experience working on product development or SaaS platform projects.
· Experience with working knowledge of OAuth2/OIDC authentication flows and JWT token handling
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
