Job Summary
The Neuro Technician is responsible for performing and assisting in various neurodiagnostic procedures including EEG, Nerve Conduction Studies (NCV), Electromyography (EMG), Evoked Potentials (EP), and Long-Term Video EEG Monitoring. The role requires maintaining patient safety, ensuring accurate data acquisition, and supporting neurologists in the diagnosis and management of neurological disorders.
Key ResponsibilitiesNeurodiagnostic Procedures
- Prepare patients for neurodiagnostic investigations by explaining procedures and obtaining relevant history.
- Perform routine and sleep-deprived Electroencephalography (EEG).
- Assist neurologists in Electromyography (EMG) procedures.
- Conduct Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV) studies as per protocol.
- Perform Visual Evoked Potential (VEP), Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response (BAER/BERA), and Somatosensory Evoked Potential (SSEP) studies.
- Assist in Long-Term Video EEG monitoring and epilepsy evaluations.
- Ensure proper electrode placement and signal quality.
Patient Care
- Maintain patient comfort, privacy, and safety during investigations.
- Monitor patients during prolonged procedures.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies during testing.
- Follow infection prevention and control protocols.
Equipment Management
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain neurodiagnostic equipment.
- Report equipment malfunction to the Biomedical Engineering department.
- Ensure adequate stock of consumables and electrodes.
Documentation
- Maintain accurate patient records and investigation reports.
- Upload reports and test data into the Hospital Information System (HIS).
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information.
Quality & Compliance
- Adhere to NABH, hospital, and departmental protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the neurodiagnostic laboratory.
- Participate in departmental audits and quality improvement initiatives.
Team Coordination
- Coordinate with neurologists, neurosurgeons, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Assist in emergency neurological evaluations whenever required.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of EEG, EMG, NCV, EP, and Video EEG procedures.
- Basic understanding of neurological disorders.
- Ability to handle neurodiagnostic equipment efficiently.
- Strong communication and patient-handling skills.
- Good documentation and computer proficiency.
- Attention to detail and analytical ability.
- Ability to work in shifts, weekends, and emergency situations.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹23,000.00 per month
