About the Role
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented UI/UX Designer Intern to help design user-friendly and visually appealing web and mobile applications. You will work closely with product managers and developers to understand user requirements and convert ideas into practical, intuitive designs.
This role is suitable for someone who understands basic UI/UX principles, is comfortable using Figma, and wants hands-on experience designing real digital products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design user interfaces for web applications, responsive websites, and mobile apps.
- Create user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes.
- Improve the usability and visual consistency of existing product screens.
- Conduct basic user research and study competitor applications.
- Build and maintain reusable components and design systems in Figma.
- Design responsive layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure designs are implemented correctly.
- Review developed screens and identify UI inconsistencies or usability issues.
- Organise design files, components, styles, and documentation properly.
- Incorporate feedback from users, developers, and product stakeholders.
Skills Required
- Working knowledge of Figma.
- Understanding of UI design, UX principles, typography, spacing, colour, and visual hierarchy.
- Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and responsive designs.
- Understanding of web and mobile application design patterns.
- Basic knowledge of design systems and reusable components.
- Good communication, creativity, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to accept feedback and improve designs through multiple iterations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Students or recent graduates in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A portfolio containing web, mobile app, academic, freelance, or personal design projects.
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, React, or frontend development is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with usability testing, accessibility, and developer handoff is an advantage.
