Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Diamond & Polki Grader to evaluate, grade and inspect diamonds and Polki stones/jewellery based on quality, authenticity and defined grading parameters.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of diamond grading, the 4Cs, Polki diamonds/stones and jewellery quality standards, along with excellent observation and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Grade and evaluate diamonds based on the 4Cs – Cut, Colour, Clarity and Carat Weight.
Inspect diamonds for inclusions, blemishes, symmetry, proportions and overall quality.
Evaluate Polki diamonds/stones based on colour, clarity, shape, size, cut and overall appearance.
Identify natural, treated and potentially synthetic/lab-grown stones as per company standards.
Inspect stones and jewellery pieces for quality, consistency and visible defects.
Measure and accurately record stone specifications.
Maintain grading reports, inspection records and quality documentation.
Ensure grading is consistent with company quality standards and customer requirements.
Coordinate with jewellery production, manufacturing, purchase and quality teams.
Support quality control and final inspection of finished jewellery.
Handle diamonds, Polki and jewellery with appropriate care, security and accountability.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of diamond grading and identification.
Good understanding of Polki diamonds and traditional Polki jewellery.
Knowledge of diamond shapes, cuts, colours, clarity grades and treatments.
Ability to identify differences in stone quality and characteristics.
Strong observation and analytical skills.
Good knowledge of jewellery terminology.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic computer skills for maintaining grading records.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience in diamond grading, Polki grading, jewellery quality control, diamond manufacturing, jewellery manufacturing or gemological laboratories will be preferred.
