Praeclarum Tech is hiring a Linux Administrator who can keep our servers healthy and be the friendly, fluent-English face for our customers. You’ll watch the dashboards, respond to alerts, fix issues, and communicate clearly with users via chat, email, and calls.
Responsibilities
- Monitor & maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu/Kali Linux/RHEL-family) and core services (NGINX/Apache, systemd, SSH, DNS, firewalls).
- Triage alerts (Prometheus/Grafana/Zabbix/Nagios, CloudWatch, etc.), investigate quickly, and restore service.
- Provide customer support: handle tickets and live chats, explain technical issues in clear English, and follow through to resolution.
- Own incidents: document RCA, create/execute runbooks, and drive preventative fixes.
- Perform routine ops: patching, backups/restores, SSL renewals, user & access management, log reviews (journalctl/ELK).
- Automate small tasks with Bash/Python and improve monitoring checks/dashboards.
- Collaborate & escalate to DevOps/Engineering when needed; keep customers updated within SLAs.
Requirements
- Fluent English (written & spoken) with a calm, service-oriented tone.
- 2–4 years in Linux administration supporting production systems.
- Solid troubleshooting across CPU/memory/disk/network, filesystems (ext4/xfs), and services.
- Experience with monitoring & alerting tools and ticketing systems (Jira/ServiceNow/Freshdesk/Zendesk).
- Comfortable with Bash (Python a plus) and Git basics.
- Willing to work a shift/on-call rotation (including weekends/holidays as scheduled).
