VMC Operator Job Description
A VMC (Vertical Machining Center) Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring VMC machines to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings, quality standards, and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate VMC machines to produce machined parts and components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job specifications.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished parts.
- Set workpieces and tools correctly in the machine.
- Monitor machine operations and make minor offset adjustments when required.
- Inspect finished products using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and product quality.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
- Record production data and inspection results.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and quality standards.
- Report machine malfunctions or production issues to supervisors.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of VMC machine operations and machining processes.
- Ability to read technical drawings and engineering specifications.
- Familiarity with measuring and inspection instruments.
- Understanding of cutting tools, feeds, and speeds.
- Basic knowledge of CNC programming and offsets.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Good problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Qualifications
- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Machinist, Tool & Die Making, or related field preferred.
- Experience operating VMC/CNC machines is an advantage.
- Knowledge of machining metals and engineering materials.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
