Role Summary
The Bidding Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end proposal development for high-value tenders, RFPs, RFQs, and bids. The role involves strategic bid planning, team coordination, solution development, pricing strategy, and ensuring submission of compelling, compliant, and winning proposals. The Bidding Manager functions as a central point of leadership across technical, commercial, and operations teams, ensuring excellence, accuracy, and competitiveness in all submissions.

Key Responsibilities
1. Bid Strategy & Planning
- Lead bid qualification (Go/No-Go) discussions with senior management.
- Analyze tender requirements, risks, competition, and client expectations.
- Create comprehensive bid plans, timelines, and resource allocation matrices.
- Develop win themes, value propositions, differentiators, and compliance strategies.
2. Proposal Development & Leadership
- Oversee preparation of complete technical and commercial proposals.
- Lead cross-functional bid teams: technical, finance, operations, legal, supply chain, HR.
- Ensure proposal structure, content, and messaging align with organizational goals and client needs.
- Review and refine proposal drafts to ensure clarity, accuracy, and competitiveness.
- Ensure strict compliance with RFP specifications, scope, format, and deadlines.
3. Pricing & Commercial Management
- Develop pricing strategies in coordination with finance and leadership teams.
- Conduct competitive pricing analysis and margin planning.
- Evaluate contract terms, commercial clauses, and potential risks.
- Recommend mitigation strategies for contractual or financial exposure.
4. Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Coordinate with internal senior stakeholders and external partners/vendors.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, client interactions, and clarification sessions.
- Lead presentations, bid defense meetings, and negotiation sessions when required.
5. Process Improvement & Knowledge Management
- Maintain a central repository of templates, past bids, credentials, case studies, and compliance documents.
- Implement process improvements and bid management best practices.
- Conduct post-bid reviews to evaluate performance, pricing strategies, and improvement areas.
- Train and mentor junior bidding executives and proposal writers.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (Business, Engineering, Commerce, or related).
- 2-4 years of experience in tendering/proposal management (industry-specific preferred).
- Strong knowledge of government e-procurement systems and private RFP processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and bid management tools.
- Strong analytical, commercial, and risk-assessment capabilities.
- Proven track record of leading and winning complex, large-value bids.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with global RFPs (US, EU, Middle East, APAC) if applicable.
- Familiarity with proposal automation tools (e.g., RFP360, Loopio, Qvidian).
- Certification in APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) is a plus.
- Experience in pricing models, contract negotiation, and solution architecture.
