About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Production Manager – Sheet Metal Fabrication with 15–20 years of hands-on manufacturing experience in sheet metal fabrication. The ideal candidate should possess strong shop-floor leadership capabilities and in-depth knowledge of fabrication processes including power press operations, press brakes, shearing, laser cutting, welding, assembly, and finishing operations.
Candidates from the Automotive, Defence, Heavy Engineering, Agricultural Equipment, or Industrial Manufacturing sectors will be preferred.
The Production Manager will be responsible for driving productivity, quality, delivery performance, manpower utilization, cost control, and continuous improvement across the manufacturing operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Execution
- Lead and manage day-to-day manufacturing operations of the sheet metal fabrication facility.
- Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
- Coordinate with PPC, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and Dispatch teams to ensure smooth production flow.
- Monitor machine loading and optimize capacity utilization across all fabrication processes.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
Manufacturing Operations
Hands-on knowledge and supervision of:
- Mechanical & Hydraulic Power Presses
- Press Brake Machines (CNC & Conventional)
- Shearing Machines
- Fiber Laser Cutting Machines
- MIG/TIG Welding Operations
- Spot Welding & Projection Welding
- Assembly Operations
- Surface Preparation & Painting Processes
- Tooling & Die Management
Process Improvement & Productivity
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Reduce cycle times, rejections, rework, and process bottlenecks.
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Drive shop-floor automation and process standardization initiatives.
- Develop and monitor KPIs related to productivity, quality, and delivery.
Quality Management
- Ensure compliance with customer quality standards and internal quality systems.
- Work closely with QA/QC teams to minimize defects and customer complaints.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure process discipline and adherence to SOPs.
Manpower Management
- Lead a team of supervisors, engineers, operators, and technicians.
- Ensure proper manpower deployment and shift management.
- Conduct skill development and training programs for shop-floor personnel.
- Foster a high-performance and safety-oriented work culture.
Cost Control
- Monitor material utilization and reduce wastage.
- Improve labor productivity and machine efficiency.
- Control overtime and manufacturing costs.
- Participate in annual budgeting and cost reduction programs.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all safety, statutory, and environmental regulations.
- Drive a strong culture of workplace safety and discipline.
- Conduct regular safety audits and corrective actions.
Desired Candidate ProfileEducation
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
Experience
- 15–20 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication manufacturing.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing production teams.
- Experience in Automotive OEM, Tier-1 Supplier, Defence Manufacturing, Heavy Engineering, Agricultural Equipment, or Industrial Fabrication industries preferred.

Reporting To: Plant Head / Director – Operations
Location: Nagpur, Maharashtra
Compensation: Best in industry, commensurate with experience and capability.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
