We are seeking a highly capable Senior Finance Manager with strong UK accounting experience to lead and develop our finance function supporting UK businesses.
This is a senior role requiring strong technical accounting knowledge, commercial awareness, and the ability to independently manage financial operations across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing day-to-day accounting operations
- Preparation and review of monthly management accounts
- VAT compliance and UK financial reporting
- Cash flow monitoring and financial analysis
- Supervising bookkeeping, accounts payable, and receivable functions
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and commercial reporting
- Assisting with year-end accounts, audits, and statutory compliance
- Developing finance processes, controls, and reporting systems
- Supporting directors with operational and financial decision-making
Essential Requirements:
- Significant experience working with UK accounts and UK businesses
- Strong understanding of UK accounting standards, VAT, and compliance requirements
- Experience managing finance functions or supervising accounting staff
- Strong working knowledge of Xero and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of finance operations
- Fluent spoken and written English
Qualifications:
- CA / ACCA / ACA qualified or equivalent professional qualification preferred
- Minimum 5+ years’ relevant experience in UK accounting or finance environment
- Experience working with UK accounting firms, outsourcing companies, or UK-based SMEs strongly preferred
Preferred Experience:
- Payroll, corporation tax, and multi-company accounting experience
- Experience implementing reporting systems and finance process improvements
Working Arrangement:
- Hybrid working may be considered for suitable candidates, with office attendance expected 1-2 days per week
- Full-time office-based role preferred
Salary: Competitive salary based on experience and capability.
