We are one of India's leading premium women's ethnic wear retail brands with a strong presence across multiple states. As part of our continued growth and expansion, we are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Regional HR Business Partner (HRBP) to strengthen our Human Resources and Talent Acquisition function in the Mumbai region.
This is a key regional position responsible for building a strong local talent pipeline, ensuring timely and quality hiring, partnering with showroom and business leadership, and supporting HR governance, employee relations, and employment compliance.
The position will work closely with the Corporate HR & Legal Department at the Delhi Head Office and will act as the regional HR representative for Mumbai operations.
Position Summary
The Regional HRBP will primarily lead Talent Acquisition and manpower planning for the Mumbai region while also supporting HR operations, employee relations, HR governance, compliance, and employment-related matters.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in retail recruitment, excellent networking capabilities within the Mumbai market, and the ability to independently manage multiple hiring requirements across geographically dispersed showrooms.
Experience in women's ethnic wear, fashion, apparel, lifestyle, jewellery, or premium retail will be strongly preferred.
The position requires a high degree of ownership, confidentiality, integrity, business understanding, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a direct working relationship with the Corporate HR & Legal team in Delhi.
Key Responsibilities
A. Talent Acquisition & Quality Hiring – Primary Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for all assigned showroom and corporate positions in the Mumbai region.
- Partner with business leaders and showroom management to understand current and future manpower requirements.
- Develop and execute recruitment strategies to ensure timely availability of quality manpower.
- Build a strong local talent pipeline through:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with recruitment consultants, placement agencies, colleges, institutes, and local talent networks.
- Identify and attract passive candidates for critical positions.
- Recruit for positions including: Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Sales Executive, Cashier, Stock Executive, Visual Merchandiser, Area/Cluster Management positions
- Conduct candidate screening, interviews, competency assessments, and reference checks as applicable.
- Coordinate interview processes with business stakeholders.
- Manage salary discussions and negotiations within approved salary structures.
- Ensure timely offer release and joining of selected candidates.
- Monitor offer acceptance, joining ratio, candidate dropouts, and early attrition.
- Maintain accurate recruitment MIS, vacancy trackers, hiring dashboards, and management reports.
- Ensure recruitment targets are achieved without compromising candidate quality.
B. Talent Pipeline & Mumbai Market Development
- Establish a strong and continuously updated Mumbai-region talent database.
- Develop talent pools for critical and frequently hired retail positions.
- Conduct market mapping for key retail positions.
- Track competitor hiring trends, salary levels, talent availability, and market practices.
- Develop new recruitment channels to improve candidate quality and reduce hiring costs.
- Build relationships with experienced retail professionals for future hiring.
- Create recruitment pipelines in advance for planned showroom expansion.
- Develop a strong local employer network and improve the company's visibility among potential candidates.
C. HR Business Partnership
- Act as the regional HR business partner for showroom and business leadership.
- Understand business requirements and translate them into effective manpower and HR solutions.
- Provide HR guidance to showroom management on employee-related matters.
- Support manpower planning, workforce deployment, transfers, promotions, and employee retention.
- Identify recurring people-related issues and recommend appropriate solutions to Corporate HR.
- Maintain regular communication with the Corporate HR & Legal Department regarding regional HR matters.
- Ensure effective implementation of HR policies, processes, and directives issued by Head Office.
D. Employee Relations & HR Governance
- Act as the first HR point of contact for routine employee relations matters in the region.
- Address employee grievances objectively and professionally.
- Support conflict resolution between employees and management.
- Assist in handling disciplinary and misconduct matters.
- Support investigations and prepare factual reports for submission to Corporate HR & Legal.
- Assist in preparing HR communications such as warning letters, show cause notices, transfer letters, and other employee-related documentation as directed.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.
- Promote a professional, ethical, and disciplined workplace culture.
E. HR Compliance & Employment Legal Coordination
- Support compliance with applicable employment and labour laws in coordination with the Corporate HR & Legal Department.
- Ensure proper maintenance and completeness of employee documentation.
- Support HR audits and identify gaps in employee records and statutory compliance.
- Coordinate with Corporate HR & Legal regarding employee disputes, legal notices, labour matters, and compliance issues.
- Assist in collecting relevant documents, records, statements, and evidence required for employment-related legal matters.
- Coordinate with external advocates, consultants, labour authorities, or government authorities only when authorized by Corporate HR & Legal.
- Immediately escalate any legal notice, government communication, serious employee dispute, or major compliance issue to the Corporate HR & Legal Department.
- Maintain proper records of employment-related legal and compliance matters.
F. HR Audit & Showroom Governance
- Conduct periodic HR visits and audits across assigned showrooms.
- Review employee documentation, manpower deployment, attendance-related concerns, and compliance with HR policies.
- Identify gaps in HR processes and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor implementation of Corporate HR directives.
- Submit periodic HR audit reports to the Corporate HR & Legal Department.
- Follow up with showroom management for timely closure of audit observations.
- Support surprise HR inspections whenever required.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education
Mandatory
- MBA in Human Resources – Full-Time
Preferred
- LLB will be a significant advantage.
- Diploma/Certification in Labour Laws, Industrial Relations, HR Compliance, or related areas will be preferred.
Experience
- 6–10 years of overall HR experience.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on Talent Acquisition experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years of retail recruitment experience.
- Proven experience in recruiting for multiple retail stores/showrooms.
- Experience in fashion retail, apparel, women's ethnic wear, lifestyle, jewellery, or premium retail will be strongly preferred.
- Experience in both bulk/mass hiring and managerial hiring.
- Experience in employee relations, disciplinary matters, HR compliance, or employment documentation will be an added advantage.
- Strong professional network within the Mumbai retail hiring market.

Compensation
Expected CTC: ₹4-8LPA
Compensation may be higher for exceptional candidates with strong retail recruitment experience, an established Mumbai talent network, proven HRBP capability, and/or an LLB qualification.
