Amar Khamar is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of “Chef de Partie”.
Responsibility to be taken:
Designated as the assistant to the head chef or the head chef’s second in command, he/she should perform a range of duties such as:
- Assisting with menu planning,
- Managing inventory, ordering and management of supplies.
- Ensuring that food is top quality and that kitchen is in good condition.
- Keeping stations clean and complying with food safety standards.
- Working with the team and training juniors as needed.
Knowledge/Skill needed:
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment,
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Cook food in various utensils or grillers,
- Check food while cooking to stir or turn,
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served,
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen,
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly,
- Check quality of ingredients,
- Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages,
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.),
- Ability to work in a team,
- Very good communication skills,
Experience: 2-3 years’ of good quality working experience in above areas.
