Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced MLT Faculty to teach and train paramedical students in Medical Laboratory Technology. The faculty member will be responsible for delivering theoretical and practical instruction, conducting laboratory demonstrations, evaluating student performance, and ensuring that students develop the required technical and professional competencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver lectures for MLT/paramedical students as per the prescribed curriculum.
- Conduct practical laboratory classes, demonstrations, and hands-on training.
- Teach subjects such as:
- Clinical Biochemistry
- Hematology
- Microbiology
- Clinical Pathology
- Histopathology
- Immunology/Serology
- Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine
- Laboratory Techniques and Instrumentation
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, presentations, assignments, and practical exercises.
- Conduct internal assessments, practical examinations, viva, and other student evaluations.
- Maintain student attendance, academic records, practical records, and examination documentation.
- Supervise students during laboratory practicals and ensure proper laboratory safety and infection-control practices.
- Guide students in laboratory procedures, specimen handling, testing techniques, and interpretation of basic laboratory results.
- Monitor student progress and provide academic support and mentoring.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental meetings, seminars, workshops, and academic activities.
- Maintain and monitor laboratory equipment, reagents, and teaching resources.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and applicable laboratory/educational standards.
- Coordinate with other faculty members and clinical/laboratory staff for student training and internships.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (B.Sc. MLT) or equivalent qualification.
- Master's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology / Medical Laboratory Science / relevant field will be preferred.
- Relevant teaching qualification or experience in paramedical education will be an advantage.
Experience
- Preferably 1–3 years of teaching
- Freshers with strong subject knowledge and practical laboratory skills may also be considered, depending on institutional requirements.
- Clinical laboratory or hospital experience will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Medical Laboratory Technology subjects.
- Good practical laboratory skills.
- Excellent communication and classroom-management skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to students.
- Good documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to conduct practical demonstrations and assessments.
- Professional attitude and commitment to student development.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety, quality control, and infection-control procedures.
