1. Setting Out: Utilizing surveying equipment (such as Total Stations and auto-levels) to plot precise lines, levels, and coordinates.
- Drawing Interpretation: Carefully reviewing architectural and structural drawings to ensure all work corresponds with exact project specifications.
- Structural Checks: Inspecting steel reinforcements, formwork, and alignments before any concrete pouring begins.
2. Quality Assurance & Control :-
1. Material Testing: Supervising the testing of construction materials (e.g., concrete slump tests, cube crushing tests, and soil compaction tests) to guarantee they meet industry standards.
- Defect Management: Identifying construction flaws or non-compliance issues early and implementing corrective engineering solutions.
- Post-Pour Care: Monitoring the curing process of concrete to ensure maximum structural strength.
3. Site Management & Resource Allocation :-
1 Resource Monitoring: Overseeing the day-to-day use of raw materials, heavy machinery, and labor to prevent waste and delays.
2 Coordination: Acting as the bridge between subcontractors, suppliers, and senior management to guarantee a smooth workflow.
3 Scheduling: Helping to build and maintain work charts, such as a Bar Bending Schedule (BBS) for steel, to track milestones and adjust daily worker schedules.
4. Safety & Compliance:-
1 Hazard Identification: Routinely inspecting the site to identify potential physical or environmental hazards and actively enforcing PPE usage.
2 Regulatory Compliance: Liaising with local municipal authorities and governing bodies to ensure all building codes and bylaws are followed.
5. Documentation & Reporting :-
1 Daily Reporting: Compiling daily logs and progress reports outlining materials used, completed tasks, and any technical setbacks encountered.
2 Cost Estimation: Assisting management in calculating estimates for technical/material requirements and evaluating operating costs.
