Job Summary:
The Infection Control Nurse is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating infection prevention and control practices within the hospital to minimize healthcare-associated infections and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
- Conduct surveillance of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) and prepare regular reports.
- Monitor infection trends and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct regular infection control rounds in all hospital departments.
- Ensure compliance with hand hygiene practices and standard precautions.
- Train and educate healthcare staff on infection prevention protocols.
- Monitor sterilization and disinfection processes in all relevant departments.
- Conduct audits related to infection control practices and submit reports.
- Investigate infection outbreaks and assist in implementing control measures.
- Coordinate with microbiology and clinical departments for infection surveillance.
- Ensure proper biomedical waste segregation and disposal as per regulations.
- Monitor the usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance.
- Participate in Infection Control Committee meetings and maintain records.
- Ensure compliance with NABH, JCI, and other applicable standards.
- Prepare monthly infection control indicators and quality reports.
Qualification:
- B.Sc Nursing or GNM Nursing.
- Certification or training in Infection Control is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 2–3 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Experience in infection control activities will be an added advantage.
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices.
- Understanding of NABH standards and quality requirements.
- Good communication and training skills.
- Ability to conduct audits and prepare reports.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and documentation.
Working Hours:
As per hospital policy and departmental requirements.
Salary:
As per hospital norms and candidate experience.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
