Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and results-driven Project Manager to oversee shipbuilding and marine engineering projects from planning through completion. The ideal candidate will have experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, or shipyard operations and possess strong project management skills to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute shipbuilding and marine engineering projects.
- Develop project schedules, milestones, and resource allocation plans using project management tools.
- Coordinate with clients, classification societies, shipyards, subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure project activities comply with contractual requirements, quality standards, and maritime regulations.
- Manage project budgets, procurement activities, manpower deployment, and material planning.
- Conduct regular project review meetings and provide progress reports to management and clients.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and project handover activities.
- Ensure adherence to safety policies and industry best practices throughout project execution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Shipbuilding Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Project Management, Project Engineering, or Project Coordination.
- Candidates with experience in Shipbuilding, Shipyards, Ship Repair, New Build Projects, or Marine Engineering will be preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in shipbuilding projects, vessel construction, dry docking, or ship conversion projects.
- Familiarity with classification societies such as ABS, DNV, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, or Indian Register of Shipping (IRS).
- Knowledge of marine fabrication, outfitting, structural works, piping, mechanical systems, and commissioning activities.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work under tight project deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to shipyards and project sites as required.
