Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Linux Administrator and Storage Specialist with hands-on expertise in StoreNext environments, enterprise Linux infrastructure, storage systems, virtualization, and team management. The candidate will be responsible for managing mission-critical retail/datacenter infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance optimization, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Linux & Server Administration
Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
Perform server hardening, patching, and performance tuning
Monitor server uptime, logs, CPU, memory, and storage utilization
Troubleshoot Linux OS, network, and application-related issues
Manage services such as SSH, DNS, NTP, FTP, Apache, Samba, etc.
Automate routine tasks using Shell scripting, Bash, Ansible, or Python
StoreNext Administration
Support and maintain StoreNext retail infrastructure and backend systems
Monitor StoreNext server performance and application availability
Handle StoreNext database backup, restoration, and troubleshooting
Coordinate with application, POS, and network teams for issue resolution
Ensure smooth integration between StoreNext and enterprise infrastructure
Support retail outlet connectivity and centralized monitoring
Handle incident management and root cause analysis for StoreNext environments
Storage Administration
Manage SAN, NAS, RAID, and enterprise storage systems
Configure LUNs, zoning, multipathing, snapshots, and replication
Perform storage allocation and capacity planning
Manage backup and disaster recovery solutions
Experience with storage platforms:
EMC
NetApp
Dell EMC
HPE Storage
IBM Storage
Virtualization & Cloud
Manage VMware / Hyper-V environments
Provision and maintain virtual machines
Support Linux workloads in cloud platforms like AWS or Azure
Handle VM backup, migration, and optimization
Team Leadership
Lead infrastructure and support teams
Coordinate with vendors, OEMs, and retail operations teams
Ensure SLA adherence and uptime targets
Prepare technical documentation and reports
Guide junior engineers and support staff
Required Skills
Strong Linux administration knowledge
Experience in StoreNext support and troubleshooting
Enterprise storage management experience
Backup tools knowledge (Veeam, Veritas, Commvault)
Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLAN, firewall)
Monitoring tools:
Zabbix
Nagios
Grafana
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
