Job Summary
The French Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging French language lessons that develop students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The teacher will foster an appreciation of French language and culture while creating an inclusive, student-centered learning environment aligned with the school's curriculum and educational philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality French language lessons aligned with the prescribed curriculum.
- Develop students' proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in French.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance student engagement.
- Encourage conversational French through interactive and practical classroom activities.
Curriculum Planning
- Prepare annual curriculum plans, unit plans, lesson plans, and learning resources.
- Develop age-appropriate instructional materials and classroom activities.
- Ensure curriculum delivery aligns with academic standards and school objectives.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments.
- Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, assessments, and student progress.
- Prepare report cards and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
Classroom Management
- Create a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment.
- Promote respect, collaboration, and active participation among students.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies.
Student Development
- Encourage confidence in communication and language learning.
- Identify students requiring additional academic support and provide remedial assistance where appropriate.
- Motivate students to participate in language competitions, cultural events, and school activities.
School Responsibilities
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development programmes, workshops, and school events.
- Supervise students during assemblies, examinations, excursions, and other school activities.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary learning activities.
Parent Communication
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding academic progress and student well-being.
- Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and provide progress updates.
Professional Development
- Stay updated with current teaching methodologies, language pedagogy, and educational technology.
- Participate in training programmes and continuous professional development initiatives.
Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor's Degree in French or a related field.
- DELF/DALF Level 2 / 3 certification or equivalent French language proficiency.
- Master's Degree in French or Education.
- Experience with IB, IGCSE, ICSE, CBSE, or Cambridge curriculum is an advantage.
Experience
- 2–3 years of teaching experience as a French Teacher.
- Experience in an international or reputed school is preferred.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
