Engineer Mechatronics
Job Introduction:
As an experienced Electronics Design Engineer, you will be involved in the electronics design & development and requirements engineering of the traction inverter for electric vehicles.
Major Responsibilities:
The component is developed on specification (SOR) by a supplier. The Component Engineer is the main counterpart for all technical component elements (e.g. E-Motor part or control unit part)
Development, review and optimization of the respective component design (e.g. EMotor or control unit), primarily regarding electrical and physical properties, but also mechanical properties, in coordination with the Magna specialist departments and the supplier
Execution and lead of design, design review, test specification, review test reports, and FMEA reviews with the supplier
Design of electrical interfaces including tolerance analyses
Regular communication with the supplier
Internal coordination and reporting with project management, department management and specialist departments
Ensuring parts availability for the respective components in line with project planning requirements (depending on prototype phases)
Creation and maintenance of the requirements specification (SOR), schedule, 8D reports, specifications, qualification plan and test reports•
Tracking of qualification activities including regular reporting
Review of result reports and derivation and tracking of actions
Clarification of feasibility, risks, timelines, qualification and costs
Internal initiation, tracking and driving of the Magna change process
Support of the Electronics Project Leader, taking into account customer requirements, timing, costs and quality
Independent tracking of series production changes (supplier and OEM), taking into account customer requirements, timing, costs and quality, including regular reporting to the OEM in coordination with the subsystem leader and E/E management
Good to have knowledge of PCB design reviews, component engineering for BOM management.
Experience in understanding hardware requirement engineering process.
Good to have experience in requirement engineering tools like DOORS/PTC.
Support selection of the single system components and their integration into overall inverter Hardware
Manages communication and alignment with all affected stakeholders.
Skills and competencies:
Good knowledge of the design of electronic / electrical components
Experience in managing electronic projects
Basic knowledge of transmission technology / automated transmissions would be desirable
Very good written and spoken English and potential German language skills
Strong communication and teamwork skills, flexibility
Reliability, assertiveness, independence, resilience and organizational skills
Educational Qualifications:
Successfully completed degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification
Work experience:
3-8 years of professional experience in the field of electrical engineering, alternatively mechatronics
