We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented CSSD Technician to support our surgical team by ensuring the highest standards of sterilization, infection prevention, and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean, disinfect, inspect, assemble, pack, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Operate sterilization equipment including Autoclaves, Plasma Sterilizers, Washer Disinfectors, and Ultrasonic Cleaners.
- Prepare and maintain sterile instrument sets for surgical procedures.
- Label, store, and distribute sterilized instruments according to hospital protocols.
- Monitor sterilization cycles through biological, chemical, and mechanical testing.
- Maintain accurate sterilization records and documentation.
- Conduct routine quality checks of instruments and sterile supplies.
- Coordinate with veterinarians, OT staff, and nursing teams to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments.
- Manage inventory of surgical instruments, consumables, and sterile packs.
- Identify damaged instruments and coordinate repairs or replacements.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, biomedical waste management, and hospital safety standards.
- Support emergency surgical procedures by prioritizing urgent sterilization requirements.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in CSSD Technology, Operation Theatre Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, or a related healthcare field.
- CSSD or Sterilization Technology certification is preferred.
- Experience in a veterinary hospital is an advantage.
- Candidates with experience in human hospitals are also encouraged to apply.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in CSSD operations.
- Experience in hospitals, surgical centers, or veterinary hospitals.
- Hands-on experience with sterilization equipment and infection control practices.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control protocols.
- Familiarity with surgical instruments and sterilization equipment.
- Understanding of biomedical waste management.
- Good documentation and inventory management skills.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
