§ Maintain skills and knowledge by participating in various nurse education programs, seminars, staff meeting, workshops, etc.
§ Updates skills by attending certification and recertification courses e.g. medication, I/V, ECG, BLS, PALS and NRP
§ Successfully completes unit-based competencies and training modules
Customer
§ Provides competent care to ventilated /non-ventilated patients.
§ Provides age and culturally appropriate care to patient
§ Demonstrates competency in carrying out specialized Pediatrics skills
§ Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care to all patients
§ Analyzes lab results
§ Identifies changes in the patient’s conditions and acts accordingly.
§ Ensures safe handling, management and administration of narcotics, high alert medication and look alike, sound alike drugs/inotropes/ sedatives, etc.
§ Administer medicines and injections according to the time stated on their charts and ensure that all dietary requirements are followed by the patient.
§ Monitoring patient vitals such as blood pressure, heart rate, respiration rate, temperature, and weight on a frequent basis to ensure they are within normal limits
§ Follows continuous cardiac and respiratory monitor readings, such as EKG tracings, O2 stats, etc. if applicable, and reports any observed changes
§ Care and assists with the discontinuation of CV catheters, arterial lines, epidural catheters and endotracheal tubes, Foleys catheter, etc.
§ Complies with Infection control policies for isolations precautions and infection prevention .
§ Contributes to the multidisciplinary team approach
§ Applies critical thinking and skills in provision of high-quality safe care to patients
§ Demonstrate priority setting skills and timelines in responding to patient’s needs.
§ Assist in diagnosing the disease by analysing patient’s symptoms and taking required actions for his/her recovery in consultation with doctor.
§ To provide individual nursing care for each patient according to their needs.
§ Monitoring the child’s progress and communicating with other health care professionals regarding treatment plans and patient progress
§ Intervenes appropriately in clinical emergency situations.
§ Responsible for carrying out the requisite treatments and medications
§ Providing emotional support to patients and their families during difficult times, such as death or serious illness
§ Practices the policies and protocol of emergency unit when and where applicable. For example:
a. Policies for medico-legal cases.
b. Transferring critical patients to respective units for admission
c. Patients’ valuables / property
d. Transfer out policy
§ Understands the triage process and manage the flow of patient efficiently.
§ Identify patient acuity level and assign area accordingly
§ Acts as a primary nurse in cardiac arrest.
§ Applies knowledge of drugs and dosages commonly used in ER
§ Coordinates with admission office/ nursing supervisor/bed management office for timely transfer of patients from ER.
§ Demonstrate knowledge and skills to decongest ER on timely manner to minimize patient ED length of stay
§ Demonstrate knowledge of managing external disasters and internal disasters well and coordinates with relevant authorities what about internal disasters.
Operations
§ Complies with unit specific and hospital policies/procedures and protocols.
§ Responsible for providing care to the patients from admission to discharge and extend support to the doctors
§ Smooth handover of the shift responsibilities, by briefing and updating on the patients’ health conditions and medication intakes.
§ Preparing rooms and decontaminating equipment’s and instruments.
§ Responsible for maintaining patient’s documents, reports, charts and duty books
§ Ensure compliance with prescribed standards of practice
Any other portfolio that may be entrusted by the management from time to time
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
