About the Role
BusinessBay.io is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Team Lead – Sales Training & Learning Development to lead the capability-building initiatives for our inside sales organization. This role will be responsible for designing, delivering, and managing training programs that enhance sales performance, accelerate onboarding, and improve overall productivity.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales training, coaching, learning program development, and performance improvement within high-growth sales environments. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring sales teams are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to achieve business goals.
Key ResponsibilitiesTraining Delivery & Facilitation
- Lead end-to-end onboarding and induction programs for newly hired sales professionals.
- Conduct engaging classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training sessions.
- Train sales teams on product knowledge, sales processes, customer engagement techniques, objection handling, negotiation, and closing strategies.
- Facilitate mock calls, role-plays, sales simulations, and practical learning exercises.
- Assess trainee performance and ensure readiness before deployment to the sales floor.
- Deliver refresher and advanced training programs for existing sales teams.
Learning & Development
- Design, develop, and continuously improve sales training content, playbooks, SOPs, and learning modules.
- Create structured learning journeys and competency frameworks for different sales roles.
- Develop assessment methodologies, certification programs, and evaluation criteria.
- Update training materials regularly based on market trends, business needs, and product enhancements.
- Implement innovative learning methodologies to improve knowledge retention and skill application.
Coaching & Performance Improvement
- Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions to improve individual sales performance.
- Identify skill gaps through assessments, call evaluations, observations, and manager feedback.
- Create personalized development plans for underperforming employees.
- Partner with sales leadership to improve conversion rates, productivity, and sales effectiveness.
- Provide actionable feedback to strengthen communication and customer interaction skills.
Sales Readiness & Quality Enhancement
- Ensure all new hires achieve required competency levels and become sales-floor ready.
- Monitor post-training performance and evaluate training effectiveness.
- Review sales calls and customer interactions to provide developmental coaching.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on sales quality and customer experience.
- Establish quality benchmarks and readiness standards across sales teams.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Sales, HR, Talent Acquisition, Operations, and Leadership teams.
- Support recruitment initiatives through assessments, interviews, and onboarding activities.
- Gather business feedback to identify future learning and development requirements.
- Align training strategies with organizational objectives and growth plans.
Reporting & Analytics
- Track training attendance, completion rates, certification scores, and readiness metrics.
- Measure training effectiveness through performance improvement indicators and business outcomes.
- Maintain learning dashboards, reports, and training records.
- Present insights, recommendations, and progress reports to senior management.
- Use data-driven analysis to optimize training programs and learning interventions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in Sales Training, Learning & Development, Sales Enablement, or Inside Sales Coaching.
- Proven experience managing onboarding and capability-building programs for sales teams.
- Experience in B2B Sales, SaaS, EdTech, AdTech, Digital Sales, or high-volume inside sales environments is highly preferred.
