Job description
To lead and manage the end-to-end quality function for the SMT manufacturing process, ensuring product quality, customer satisfaction, compliance with industry standards, and continuous improvement across all quality systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
Lead the overall quality function for SMT manufacturing operations.
Develop and implement quality strategies, policies, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, IPC standards, and customer-specific requirements.
Establish and monitor quality KPIs, including PPM, COPQ, FPY, and customer complaints.
SMT Process Quality
Drive process quality improvements in SMT lines, including solder paste printing, SPI, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, AOI, and X-ray inspection.
Monitor and improve First Pass Yield (FPY) and reduce defects and rework.
Implement robust process controls and mistake-proofing (Poka-Yoke) initiatives.
Customer Quality Management
Act as the primary interface for customers regarding quality issues.
Lead customer audits and ensure timely closure of customer complaints.
Drive root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and other problem-solving methodologies.
Ensure effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Supplier Quality Management
Develop and monitor supplier quality performance.
Lead supplier audits and improvement initiatives.
Ensure incoming material quality meets specifications and standards.
Team Management
Lead and mentor the quality team, including Quality Engineers, Process Quality Engineers, and Inspectors.
Develop team capabilities through training and succession planning.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence.
Audit & Compliance
Lead internal, customer, and certification audits.
Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, IPC-A-610, and ESD requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
Continuous Improvement
Drive defect reduction and process capability improvements.
Lead quality improvement projects and cost reduction initiatives.
Implement digital quality systems and data-driven decision-making processes.

Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of SMT processes and electronics manufacturing.
Expertise in IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001).
Hands-on experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and Control Plans.
Knowledge of IATF 16949 and automotive quality systems.
Proficiency in quality tools such as 8D, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Kaizen.
