Specialist Executive Manager, Data Engineering (Analytics)

Deloitte invites you to take on a pivotal role as a Data Analytics Engineer to lead the design and delivery of new analytics solutions / capabilities for a multi-billion Operate business.
This is not a traditional analytics engineering role. Your focus will be on rapid development of working prototypes and production pilots—building on a local or cloud PostgreSQL environment, not waiting for enterprise infrastructure approvals—producing outputs that get used in real decisions within days/weeks, not months. When solutions earn business buy-in, they will graduate to enterprise platforms.
Work you'll do
As a Specialist Executive Manager, Data Engineering on the BO&I, US Operate – USI team, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and building analytics infrastructure in local or cloud PostgreSQL, including schema, data models, and pipelines
- Developing scalable transformation frameworks using SQL, dbt, and related tools to support prototypes and production pilots
- Building executive-ready dashboards in Tableau or Power BI and validating metrics, reporting accuracy, and business insights
- Partnering with US and USI business leaders to gather requirements, explain trade-offs, and present dashboards, prototypes, and solutions
- Leading and mentoring a junior analytics engineer while driving code quality, technical documentation, reusable patterns, and team capability building
The team
You will join a cross-business Operate team, focused on developing / innovating key measures of business performance and building business intelligence and operational reporting that inform decisions and drive the US Operate business’ high growth. We operate with startup-speed mindset inside a large enterprise: prototype first, document second, and scale after proving the concept works.
Location: Hyderabad
Shift Timings: 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST
Qualifications
Required:
- 12+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or related roles
- Experience building analytics solutions from the ground up
- Advanced SQL and strong Python skills
- Experience with Tableau or Power BI and dashboard design
- Experience with dbt or similar transformation frameworks
- Strong PostgreSQL skills, including schema design, indexing, and query performance
- Experience mentoring or leading junior team members
Preferred:
- Experience in product-driven technology organizations
- Experience working with consulting firms or US clients
- Familiarity with US business terminology and metrics
- Experience with data governance and lineage
- Contributions to open-source or technical communities
