Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL / MS COBOL to join our Banking Technology team. The role involves working closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and Business Analysts to deliver high-quality mainframe solutions aligned with business objectives.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on mainframe development experience, strong technical fundamentals, and the ability to lead and guide technical teams while applying industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance applications using COBOL 85 / MS COBOL
- Translate solution architecture and business requirements into technical design and working software
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and Analysts to refine epics and user stories
- Lead and mentor technical team members, ensuring adherence to development standards
- Apply industry best practices, coding standards, and quality guidelines
- Support testing, deployment, and post-production activities
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies and follow Agile delivery practices
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in COBOL 85 / MS COBOL
- Mainframe application development experience
- Strong understanding of batch and online processing environments
Good-to-Have Skills
- Banking domain knowledge
- Exposure to Agile concepts and methodologies
- Experience working in large, enterprise-scale projects
