Core Duties & Responsibilities
Collection Development & Management
- Procuring and cataloging books, journals, theses, and manuscripts.
- Managing and expanding e-resource databases, institutional repositories, and digital archives.
- Evaluating library collections and conducting collection maintenance (weeding out outdated materials).
Research & User Services
- Conducting user orientation programs and bibliographic instruction to train students and researchers.
- Providing on-demand research assistance, literature searches, and reference desk duties.
- Facilitating Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services and managing Book Bank or competitive examination cells.
Digital Transformation & Administration
- Overseeing the computerization of library services and maintaining the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC).
- Managing the library's budget, resource allocation, and grant procurement.
- Supervising library staff, coordinating schedules, and ensuring a conducive study environment.
Essential Qualifications (UGC Norms)
- Master's Degree: A Master’s Degree in Library Science, Information Science, or Documentation Science (or an equivalent professional degree)
- National Test: Qualifying the UGC-NET or equivalent state-level test (SLET/SET).
- Academic Record: Consistently good academic record with demonstrated knowledge of library computerization
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
