Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Odoo Project Manager to lead end-to-end Odoo implementation projects across multiple business domains. The ideal candidate should have strong functional knowledge of Odoo, excellent project management capabilities, and the ability to manage customers, functional consultants, developers, and other stakeholders.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that Odoo projects are delivered on time, within scope, and according to customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities1. Project Management
- Manage Odoo implementation projects from initiation through go-live and post-go-live support.
- Prepare project plans, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements.
- Track project progress and ensure timely completion of activities.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and scope changes.
- Monitor project budgets, effort, and resource utilization.
- Conduct regular project status meetings and provide management reports.
2. Requirement Gathering & Business Analysis
- Conduct workshops and discussions with customers to understand their business processes.
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
- Perform fit-gap analysis between standard Odoo functionality and customer requirements.
- Identify opportunities to use standard Odoo functionality instead of unnecessary customization.
- Prepare functional specifications and coordinate with the development team for custom requirements.
3. Odoo Functional Expertise
Strong understanding of multiple Odoo modules, including:
- Sales
- CRM
- Purchase
- Inventory
- Manufacturing / MRP
- Accounting
- Project
- HR / HRMS
- Point of Sale
- Quality
- Maintenance
- Website / eCommerce
The candidate should understand how different modules integrate with each other and how business processes flow across the Odoo ecosystem.
4. Team Management
- Manage and coordinate functional consultants, developers, testers, and other project resources.
- Allocate tasks based on skills, priorities, and project timelines.
- Review deliverables and ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Support team members in resolving functional and project-related challenges.
- Coordinate effectively between functional and technical teams.
5. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers during implementation.
- Conduct requirement workshops, demos, review meetings, and UAT sessions.
- Manage customer expectations and communicate project status clearly.
- Handle escalations and resolve conflicts professionally.
- Obtain customer approvals and sign-offs for requirements, UAT, and go-live.
6. Implementation & Go-Live
- Oversee configuration, customization, integrations, data migration, testing, and UAT.
- Ensure proper preparation of master data and transactional data migration.
- Coordinate user training and documentation.
- Prepare and manage the go-live plan.
- Coordinate post-go-live support and stabilization activities.
Required Skills
- 5–10 years of experience in ERP/Odoo implementation and project management.
- Strong hands-on understanding of Odoo functional modules.
- Experience managing end-to-end Odoo implementations.
- Strong understanding of ERP business processes.
- Good knowledge of project management methodologies.
- Strong requirement-gathering and analytical skills.
- Ability to differentiate between standard Odoo functionality and customization requirements.
- Good understanding of Odoo technical concepts, APIs, integrations, and custom development.
- Excellent stakeholder and client management skills.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience in the following areas will be preferred:
- Multiple Odoo versions and migrations/upgrades.
- Manufacturing and supply-chain implementations.
- Accounting and finance implementations.
- Government / e-Governance projects.
- Retail and eCommerce projects.
- Multi-company and multi-country implementations.
- Third-party integrations.
- Large-scale implementations with multiple users and departments.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Projects delivered within agreed scope, timeline, and budget.
- Customer satisfaction and successful UAT/sign-off.
- Effective team utilization and productivity.
- Reduction in project risks and escalations.
- Successful go-live and post-go-live stabilization.
- Quality of requirements, documentation, and project deliverables.
- Successful adoption of Odoo by end users.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum, or similar project management certification is an advantage.
