We are looking for a dedicated and organised Pharmacist to manage our in-house pharmacy operations. In this role, you will be responsible for dispensing medications prescribed by our veterinarians, managing pharmaceutical inventory, ensuring strict compliance with drug regulations, and counselling pet parents on medication administration and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prescription & Dispensing Management
- Accurately fill and dispense veterinary prescriptions (tablets, syrups, topical treatments, injectables) as ordered by the clinical team.
- Calculate exact dosages based on species, body weight, and specific veterinary instructions.
- Double-check prescriptions for drug interactions, proper dosage limits, and potential contraindications.
2. Inventory & Stock Control
- Maintain real-time tracking of pharmacy inventory, reorder thresholds, and shelf-life dates.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure zero stock-outs of critical life-saving medications and surgical supplies.
- Manage vendor relationships, purchase orders, and stock receipts efficiently.
- Ensure proper cold-chain management and storage conditions for vaccines, biologics, and temperature-sensitive drugs.
3. Regulatory Compliance & Record Keeping
- Maintain meticulous logs for controlled substances, scheduled drugs, and prescription records in compliance with local veterinary and pharmaceutical regulations.
- Safely manage medication disposal for expired or contaminated products following standard biohazard guidelines.
4. Client Communication & Care
- Clear, empathetic counseling for pet parents regarding administration methods (e.g., hiding pills in food, syringe feeding), side effects, and storage.
- Answer client inquiries about prescription refills and dietary supplements.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a recognized institute.
- Registration: Valid registration with the Pharmacy Council.
- Experience: 1–3 years of pharmacy experience (prior experience in a veterinary hospital, clinic, or handling animal healthcare products is a strong plus, but open to training passionate candidates).
Skills:
- High attention to detail and accuracy in dosage calculations.
- Familiarity with clinic/pharmacy management software.
- Strong communication skills in Malayalam and English.
- Gentle, patient-centered approach to client care.
Pay: ₹8,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
