Job Summary
The Ward Secretary is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the nursing and medical staff within the hospital ward. The role ensures the smooth operation of the ward by managing patient records, coordinating communication, maintaining documentation, scheduling services, and assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with hospital policies.
Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Support
- Perform general clerical and administrative duties for the ward.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure documentation is complete and up to date.
- Prepare, type, and distribute reports, correspondence, and other documents.
- File and retrieve patient records and administrative documents as required.
- Maintain ward registers and statistical records.
Patient Administration
- Register patient admissions, transfers, and discharges in the hospital information system.
- Verify patient demographic and administrative information.
- Schedule diagnostic tests, procedures, consultations, and follow-up appointments.
- Coordinate patient transport and other support services when required.
Communication
- Answer telephone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
- Act as the communication link between doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, patients, and visitors.
- Relay messages accurately and promptly.
- Welcome patients and visitors and provide information within the scope of the role.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
