Job Summary
The Accounts Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing all accounting, financial reporting, taxation, statutory compliance, budgeting, and internal control activities for the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The role ensures compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax laws, Companies Act requirements, and pharmaceutical industry regulations while supporting business decisions through accurate financial information and analysis.
Key Responsibilities1. Financial Accounting
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations.
- Ensure timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Maintain General Ledger (GL).
- Review journal vouchers and accounting entries.
- Monitor receivables and payables.
- Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing.
- Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain fixed asset register.
2. Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly financial statements.
- Prepare Profit & Loss Account.
- Prepare Balance Sheet.
- Prepare Cash Flow Statements.
- Conduct variance analysis against budgets.
- Present MIS reports to management.
- Generate cost analysis reports for manufacturing operations.
3. Budgeting & Cost Control
- Prepare annual operating budget.
- Monitor departmental budgets.
- Analyze manufacturing costs.
- Monitor inventory valuation.
- Support product costing.
- Review production overhead allocation.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction.
4. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- GST
- Income Tax
- TDS
- Professional Tax
- PF & ESI accounting
- Coordinate tax audits.
- File statutory returns.
- Liaise with tax consultants.
- Maintain statutory records.
5. Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Accounting
- Monitor:
- Raw Material Cost
- Packing Material Cost
- WIP Valuation
- Finished Goods Inventory
- Batch Costing
- Manufacturing Variances
- Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, QA, QC, and Purchase departments.
- Verify inventory reconciliation.
6. Internal Controls
- Implement financial controls.
- Ensure segregation of duties.
- Review payment approvals.
- Verify vendor payments.
- Monitor authorization matrix.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies.
7. Audit Management
- Coordinate:
- Internal Audit
- Statutory Audit
- Tax Audit
- Cost Audit
- Prepare audit schedules.
- Resolve audit observations.
- Implement corrective actions.
8. Banking & Cash Management
- Manage banking relationships.
- Monitor cash flow.
- Prepare cash forecasts.
- Supervise fund transfers.
- Monitor working capital.
- Coordinate loan documentation.
9. Team Management
- Supervise Accounts Executives.
- Allocate work responsibilities.
- Review accounting records.
- Train finance staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations.
- Develop departmental SOPs.
10. ERP Management
- Ensure accurate accounting in ERP.
- Review financial master data.
- Coordinate ERP improvements.
- Generate financial reports.
- Support ERP implementation projects.
Educational Qualification
- Chartered Accountant (CA) – Preferred
OR
- CMA (Cost & Management Accountant)
OR
OR
- M.Com with relevant pharmaceutical manufacturing experience
Experience
- 3-6years of accounting experience.
- Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing is preferred.

Working Conditions
- Office-based role with regular interaction with Production, Stores, Procurement, HR, QA, QC, and senior management.
