Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Tooling Design Engineer with 4–5 years of hands-on experience in designing manufacturing tooling for automotive, aerospace, or general engineering industries.
The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in welding jigs, machining fixtures, special-purpose tooling, and GD&T, along with working knowledge of composite lay-up tools and sheet metal forming tools. The candidate should also be capable of mentoring junior engineers, coordinating design activities, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality tooling solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and develop welding jigs, machining fixtures, checking fixtures, and special-purpose tools based on customer requirements and manufacturing processes.
- Prepare detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and assembly drawings using CAD software.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles in tooling design and manufacturing documentation.
- Design tooling considering manufacturability, assembly, ergonomics, safety, cost, and maintenance.
- Develop and optimize special-purpose tools to improve productivity, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Support tooling development from concept through manufacturing, assembly, testing, and final validation.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, production, and customers to resolve technical issues.
- Conduct design reviews, tolerance stack-up analysis, and engineering change implementation.
- Guide and mentor junior design engineers, review their work, and ensure adherence to company design standards.
- Ensure projects are completed within schedule while maintaining quality and cost targets.
- Maintain engineering documentation, BOMs, revision control, and design records.

Working knowledge of:

- Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as CATIA V5 or SolidWorks.
- Good understanding of machining, fabrication, welding, inspection methods, and assembly processes.

Educational Qualification

- Exposure to PLM/PDM systems and engineering change management.
- Knowledge of tooling validation, shop-floor support, and design optimization techniques.
Pay: ₹500,000.00 per year
