Print Designer (Freelance)
Design | Freelance Project, Scrub Cap Prints | Remote, with sampling reviews in Mumbai, Worli
About Knya
Knya is a funded, fast-growing D2C brand redefining healthcare apparel for modern professionals, backed by DSG
Consumer Partners. We combine functionality, comfort, and aesthetics to serve a community that deserves more from
their workwear. Our culture values ownership, experimentation, speed, and customer obsession.
What Are You Entering Into
Knya is one of India's fastest-growing healthcare apparel brands and we're just getting started. When you join us,
you're not filling a seat. You're stepping into a company that is actively being built, where the work you do today
shapes what Knya looks like tomorrow. We're a team of driven people who care deeply about what we're building,
move with purpose, and back each other to grow. If you're looking for a place where your contribution is visible, your
growth is real, and your work actually matters to the people who wear what we make, this is it.
Role Overview
We're building a new range of printed scrub caps and we're looking for a freelance print designer to develop 10
original prints for it. You'll own the prints end to end, from concept and colourway to production-ready artwork. It's a
defined project with a clear brief and clear milestones, with scope for repeat work if the range lands.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 10 original prints for scrub caps, from mood board and concept through to final artwork
- Translate Knya's brand language into prints that read well on a small, curved, folded surface
- Build repeats, placements, and colourways that survive cutting, panelling, and stitching
- Deliver production-ready files in vendor formats, with separations and Pantone references
- Work with our design and production teams through sampling, strike-offs, and corrections before bulk
- Turn around feedback in fast, tight rounds against agreed delivery dates
Must Haves
- 2+ years designing prints for apparel or textiles, freelance or in-house
- Design background from RISD, NIFT, NID, Pearl, or an equivalent institute
- Portfolio of original print work. No stock, no derivative artwork, no licensing risk
- Strong on Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, including repeats, separations, and colourways
- Working knowledge of how print behaves on fabric, and the limits of screen and digital printing
- Available to commit to a fixed project timeline and hit milestone dates
Good to Have
- Experience designing for apparel worn in clinical or professional settings
- Exposure to sublimation or digital printing on knits and blends
- Ability to design prints as a coordinated family, not ten unrelated one-offs
- Prior work with D2C or consumer brands
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Worli, Mumbai, Maharashtra
