A delivery driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods, packages, or food from a distribution centre or store to residential or business addresses. They plan routes, load and unload vehicles, and ensure that items arrive on time and in good condition
Key Responsibilities
· Transport Goods: Safely drive and operate a variety of vehicles (cars, vans, or trucks) in various weather and traffic conditions.
· Route Planning: Use GPS and navigation tools to follow assigned routes, avoid traffic delays, and meet strict delivery schedules.
· Load and Unload: Physically lift, arrange, and secure packages or products to prevent damage during transit.
· Customer Service: Interact with clients professionally, address complaints, and answer inquiries.
· Record Keeping: Collect payments, obtain customer signatures, and maintain accurate delivery logs and reports.
· Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine safety and maintenance checks on the vehicle (e.g., fluid levels, tire pressure) and report mechanical issues.
Requirements & Qualifications
· Valid Driver’s License: A clean driving record with no major traffic violations. (A Commercial Driver's License or CDL may be required for larger trucks).
