Role Overview
The PR Manager will lead media relations, PR coordination, and media monitoring across all divisions of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR). The role requires a strong network of journalists across Assam, North Bengal, Bihar, and the Northeast, with the ability to generate positive media coverage, manage crisis communication, and support strategic public relations initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Media Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, TV reporters, digital media, and railway beat correspondents across all NFR divisions.
- Develop and regularly update a comprehensive media database covering print, digital, broadcast, regional, and district-level media.
2. PR Coordination
- Coordinate media outreach across NFR divisions, including Guwahati/Maligaon, Tinsukia, Lumding, Rangiya, Alipurduar, Katihar, and other key locations.
- Liaise with field teams to collect verified updates, photographs, and videos for timely media dissemination.
3. Content & Media Communication
- Draft and circulate press releases, media advisories, event notes, spokesperson quotes, interview briefs, clarifications, and other PR materials.
- Translate technical railway information into clear, media-friendly communication.
4. Media Monitoring
- Track print, online, TV, YouTube, and social media coverage related to NFR.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and campaign-wise media monitoring reports, including coverage analysis, sentiment classification, and issue tracking.
- Flag sensitive or negative coverage for timely action.
5. Earned Media & Story Development
- Identify newsworthy stories and proactively pitch them to relevant media outlets.
- Promote initiatives related to passenger services, infrastructure, safety, technology, tourism, sustainability, and community engagement.
6. Broadcast & Event Management
- Coordinate media coverage for press conferences, inaugurations, inspections, awareness campaigns, and official events.
- Facilitate interviews, official statements, media kits, and visual content for broadcast and digital platforms.
7. Crisis Communication
- Support media management during accidents, disruptions, protests, service issues, and other sensitive situations.
- Prepare factual statements, clarifications, and approved media responses while ensuring communication accuracy.
8. Internal Coordination & Documentation
- Work closely with internal teams to align communication strategies.
- Maintain records of press releases, media databases, coverage reports, journalist interactions, and PR activities.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong media network across the Northeast Frontier Railway region.
- Experience in Public Relations, Journalism, Government Communication, Infrastructure, or Railway Communications.
- Excellent writing, editing, and media coordination skills.
- Strong understanding of regional media across Assam, the Northeast, North Bengal, and Bihar.
- Proficiency in English and Hindi; knowledge of Assamese, Bengali, or other regional languages is an advantage.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage crisis communication.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
