Job Summary
Kauvery Hospital, Salem is looking for an experienced Assistant Manager – Pharmacy to oversee the overall pharmacy operations, including both Inpatient (IP) and Outpatient (OP) Pharmacy.
The role will be responsible for ensuring smooth pharmacy operations, driving IP & OP pharmacy sales, maintaining optimum inventory, controlling expiry and stock losses, ensuring statutory compliance, managing the pharmacy team, and delivering an excellent patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day IP and OP pharmacy operations.
- Monitor and drive IP & OP pharmacy sales and revenue performance.
- Ensure timely availability and accurate dispensing of medicines.
- Monitor pharmacy sales, prescription conversion, and consumption trends.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels and minimize stock-outs.
- Control near-expiry, expired, slow-moving, and non-moving stocks.
- Conduct periodic stock verification and ensure proper inventory reconciliation.
- Coordinate with Purchase, Stores, Nursing, Doctors, Billing, and other departments.
- Ensure adherence to pharmacy SOPs, medication safety standards, and statutory requirements.
- Monitor pharmacy service turnaround time and improve patient experience.
- Manage duty rosters, manpower allocation, and productivity of the pharmacy team.
- Train and guide pharmacists and pharmacy staff on operational and quality standards.
- Handle patient concerns and pharmacy-related escalations effectively.
- Prepare and review daily/monthly pharmacy sales, inventory, and operational MIS.
- Support internal/external audits and ensure timely closure of observations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and revenue enhancement.

Candidate Requirements
- 6–10 years of relevant experience in hospital pharmacy operations.
- B.Pharm / M.Pharm / Pharm.D qualification.
- Valid Pharmacy Council registration.
- Strong experience in managing IP and OP pharmacy operations.
- Experience in pharmacy sales, inventory management, stock control, and expiry management.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or team-handling position is preferred.
- Experience in a multi-specialty hospital or large healthcare organization will be an added advantage.
- Good communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong patient-service orientation and ability to manage pharmacy operations in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
