About ResQBag
Did you know that 300 tonnes of cooked food are wasted daily in Bangalore alone? ResQBag is a hyper-local food rescue startup on a mission to change that. We partner with top cafes, bakeries, and restaurants to list their premium unsold surplus food on our app at a 70% discount before closing time.
It's a triple win: the planet gets less waste, customers get premium food at a fraction of the cost and restaurants recover sunk costs.
The Role
As ResQBag grows its founding intern team, the founders need a trusted person in the middle, someone who can take ownership of day-to-day coordination, delegate tasks to the right people, and ensure the team is moving without the founder needing to micromanage every thread.
This is not a glamorous title. It is a high-trust, high-responsibility role for someone who genuinely loves getting things done through people.
As an early-stage bootstrapped startup, we are unable to offer financial compensation at this time. What we offer instead is something rare, the experience of functioning as a startup's internal operator before the company even launches.
What You Will Own
- Task Delegation: Receive priorities from the founder and break them down into clear, actionable tasks assigned to the right intern - content, marketing or design.
- Progress Tracking: Own the team's task board (Notion/Trello) and ensure every intern knows what they're working on, what's due, and what's blocked.
- Intern Onboarding: Be the first point of contact for newly hired interns - walk them through the team structure, tools and expectations so the founder doesn't have to repeat themselves.
- Follow-ups & Accountability: Chase deadlines, send reminders, and flag delays to the founder before they become problems.
- Non-Essential Founder Tasks: Handle the small but time-consuming tasks that eat into the founder's day - scheduling, documentation, research, vendor follow-ups, and admin.
- Weekly Reporting: Compile a simple weekly update for the founder summarizing what each intern delivered, what's in progress, and what needs founder attention.
- Team Culture: Keep the intern team motivated, aligned, and feeling connected to the mission - especially since this is a remote, unpaid team that runs on purpose.
Who We Are Looking For
- You have a natural ability to lead peers without authority - people listen to you because you're reliable, not because of a title.
- You are an exceptional communicator - clear, concise, and calm under pressure.
- You can context-switch fast. One moment you're chasing a content deadline, the next you're onboarding a new design intern.
- You are trustworthy. The founder will share sensitive business context with you - discretion is non-negotiable.
- You are comfortable with tools like Notion, Trello, Slack, or Google Workspace.
- Prior experience leading a college club, event, or team project is a strong signal we are looking for.
- Students in Business, Management, Communications, or any field are welcome - mindset matters more than major here.
What's In It For You?
- Real Leadership Experience: Managing a cross-functional intern team is the kind of experience most people don't get until they're three years into a corporate job.
- Founder's Trust & Visibility: You will know everything that's happening inside ResQBag - strategy, partnerships, hiring, and roadmap.
- Direct Founder Access: Daily collaboration with the Co-Founders, not filtered through layers of management.
- Future Opportunities: When ResQBag raises funding and moves to paid roles, the Intern Lead will be at the top of that list.
- Letter of Recommendation & Certificate: A detailed recommendation speaking to your leadership, operational ownership, and founding team contribution.
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Bangalore City, Bengaluru, Karnataka
