Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching Responsibilities
- Teach the subjects allotted by the School Management through Gujarati Medium.
- Prepare annual teaching plans, unit plans and daily lesson plans.
- Complete the syllabus within the prescribed academic schedule.
- Use modern teaching methodologies including activity-based learning, digital teaching aids and smart classroom resources.
- Encourage analytical thinking, creativity and problem-solving abilities among students.
- Conduct revision classes and remedial coaching for slow learners.
- Identify academically gifted students and provide enrichment programmes.
2. Classroom Management
- Maintain discipline and an effective learning environment.
- Ensure students maintain proper school uniform, cleanliness and discipline.
- Maintain classroom attendance daily.
- Monitor students during classroom teaching and ensure their safety.
- Prevent bullying, ragging, discrimination or any form of misconduct.
- Report behavioural issues promptly to the Principal.
3. Student Evaluation
- Prepare assignments, class tests, projects and internal assessments.
- Prepare question papers and answer keys.
- Evaluate answer books fairly and submit marks within prescribed timelines.
- Maintain cumulative progress records of students.
- Assist in preparation of report cards.
4. Student Welfare
- Encourage moral values, patriotism and respect for all religions.
- Promote environmental awareness and social responsibility.
- Motivate students to participate in cultural, literary, sports and co-curricular activities.
- Guide students regarding personal hygiene, good manners and responsible behaviour.
- Identify students requiring counselling and refer them appropriately.
5. Parent Interaction
- Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings.
- Explain academic progress and behavioural development of students.
- Respond professionally to parents' concerns.
- Maintain cordial relationships with parents.
6. Examination Duties
- Perform invigilation duties.
- Assist in preparation and conduct of examinations.
- Evaluate answer sheets promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality of examination records.
7. School Activities
- Participate in Morning Assembly.
- Organize celebrations of National Festivals, Religious Festivals, Annual Day, Sports Day, Science Fair, Cultural Programmes and Educational Tours.
- Accompany students during educational visits whenever assigned.
- Participate actively in school committees.
8. Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain Teaching Diary.
- Maintain Student Attendance Register.
- Maintain Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE)/assessment records wherever applicable.
- Maintain classroom inventory.
- Assist during admission process.
- Assist in school inspections by Government authorities.
9. Student Safety
- Ensure safety of students throughout school hours.
- Report accidents immediately.
- Supervise students during recess, dispersal and school functions.
- Ensure students follow safety instructions.
10. Professional Development
- Attend workshops, seminars and teacher training programmes.
- Update knowledge of curriculum changes.
- Improve teaching techniques continuously.
- Share innovative teaching practices with colleagues.
11. Discipline & Conduct
The Assistant Teacher shall:
- Maintain absolute integrity and devotion to duty.
- Be punctual and regular in attendance.
- Report to school before commencement of the Morning Assembly.
- Remain present until completion of all assigned duties.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding school affairs.
- Observe all Service Rules of the School.
- Treat all students without discrimination.
- Wear decent, neat and professional attire.
- Maintain cordial relationships with colleagues.
12. General Responsibilities
- Take substitute classes whenever required.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness.
- Protect school property.
- Assist in admissions, examinations and school functions.
- Undertake election duties, survey work or Government educational assignments whenever required by competent authority.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Principal, School Management or Trustee Board.
Qualifications
Essential
- Graduate Degree from a recognized University.
- B.Ed. from a recognized institution.
- Qualified TET/TAT wherever applicable under Government norms.
- Fluency in Gujarati (Reading, Writing & Speaking).
Desirable
- Working knowledge of English and Hindi.
- Computer proficiency (MS Office, Smart Classroom, Google Classroom, Online Teaching Platforms).
- Experience in GSEB Schools.
Experience
- Freshers having excellent academic background may apply.
- Preference shall be given to candidates having 2–5 years' teaching experience in Gujarati Medium Schools.
