Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Sales & Business Development Manager with a strong background in asset-based transportation and fleet operations. The candidate will be responsible for generating direct business for the company’s owned fleet, building long-term corporate relationships, and ensuring maximum utilization of trailers through strategic business development initiatives.
The ideal candidate should possess strong industry connections, deep market understanding, and the ability to generate consistent transportation volumes from manufacturers, exporters, importers, freight forwarders, and logistics clients.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development
- Generate transportation business for the company’s owned fleet of flatbed trailers.
- Develop and acquire direct clients in container transportation and logistics operations.
- Identify new business opportunities across ports, industrial hubs, manufacturers, and exporters.
- Increase revenue through strategic route planning and business expansion.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with corporate clients and key stakeholders.
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, and commercial negotiations.
- Ensure high service standards and customer satisfaction.
Fleet Utilization & Revenue Growth
- Ensure optimum utilization of company-owned trailers.
- Coordinate with operations teams for smooth execution of transportation activities.
- Focus on profitable routes and high-volume cargo movement opportunities.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and freight movement patterns.
- Identify potential sectors requiring container transportation services.
- Support management with business forecasts and growth strategies.
Reporting & Coordination
- Maintain regular sales reports, client pipelines, and business forecasts.
- Coordinate internally with operations, accounts, and management teams.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly business targets.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in transportation sales, fleet sales, or logistics business development.
- Strong understanding of container transportation and asset-based logistics operations.
- Existing network with manufacturers, exporters, CHA, freight forwarders, and logistics clients preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently and achieve revenue targets.
Preferred Industry Experience
