Bookkeeper – Australian Accounting
Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated Bookkeeper who wants to build a long-term career in Australian Accounting & Bookkeeping. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in Indian Accounting who are eager to develop their expertise in Australian accounting practices while working directly on accounting assignments for Australian clients.
The successful candidate will receive practical exposure to Australian bookkeeping processes, compliance requirements, and accounting standards, with opportunities to grow within the Australian Accounting domain.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities for Australian clients with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Perform bank, credit card, and other account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP), including invoice processing, supplier transactions, and payment-related records.
- Manage Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoicing, receipts, allocations, and outstanding balances.
- Assist in Australian payroll processing, including payroll-related entries, reconciliations, and reports.
- Prepare and maintain BAS-related data and working papers and assist in BAS preparation and finalisation under the guidance of senior team members.
- Process accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with client requirements.
- Assist with GST, payroll, and other Australian accounting-related reports.
- Review financial data, identify discrepancies, and coordinate with senior team members for timely resolution.
- Communicate professionally with internal teams and, where required, Australian clients to clarify accounting queries and requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation and ensure all assigned work is completed within agreed quality and turnaround-time standards.
- Continuously develop knowledge of Australian accounting practices, taxation concepts, and bookkeeping processes.
Eligibility & Requirements
- Education: B.Com / M.Com / MBA – Finance / CA Dropout / CA Finalist or equivalent accounting qualification.
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of strong hands-on experience in Indian Accounting is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of fundamental accounting concepts, including journal entries, ledgers, AP, AR, bank reconciliation, and financial statements.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent English communication skills – both written and verbal – are mandatory.
- Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail.
- Willingness and ability to learn Australian Accounting and Bookkeeping practices.
- Candidates who have a strong Indian accounting background and are serious about building a career in Australian Accounting are encouraged to apply.
- Australian accounting experience is not mandatory; training and guidance will be provided to candidates with the right accounting foundation and learning attitude.
