Role: Site Engineer
Objective: To supervise and execute civil, electrical, and MEP works at project sites — ensuring quality, progress, safety, and documentation as per drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.
Context: The Site Engineer will be deployed at project sites of Harcharan Dass Gupta (HDG) and will work under the Project Manager and Site In-charge. The role involves day-to-day supervision of construction activities, coordination with subcontractors and labour, quality checks, and maintaining site records. HDG executes government, institutional, and infrastructure projects including civil works, MEP installations, HVAC, solar, firefighting, and STP across multiple locations pan-India.
Key Responsibilities: Supervise day-to-day civil and allied works at site as per approved drawings and specifications. Coordinate with subcontractors, labour, and material suppliers for smooth execution. Ensure quality of work as per IS codes, CPWD specifications, and project requirements. Prepare daily progress reports, site diaries, and work completion records. Monitor material consumption at site and raise timely requisitions to avoid stoppages.
Additional Responsibilities: Coordinate with the billing team for joint measurements and quantity verification. Maintain measurement books (MBs) and site records for billing and audit purposes. Ensure safety protocols and PPE compliance are followed at site at all times. Liaise with client representatives, PMC, and government inspecting officers during site visits. Track and report progress against project schedule and flag delays to the Project Manager. Assist in setting out works, levelling, and layout as per drawings. Coordinate with MEP and electrical teams for integrated execution and finishing works.
Technical & Functional Tasks: Ability to read and interpret civil and architectural drawings, structural drawings, and MEP layouts. Proficient in MS Office and Google Sheets for daily reporting and progress tracking. Knowledge of CPWD specifications, IS codes, and standard construction practices. Familiar with AutoCAD for basic drawing reading and site layout purposes. Knowledge of construction materials — their specifications, testing, and quality checks.
Notes: Education: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering. Freshers with strong site exposure during training may also apply for junior positions. Prior experience on government or institutional project sites preferred. Must be willing to relocate to assigned project location — Gurugram, Leh, or NCR. Candidates familiar with CPWD procedures and site documentation will be preferred.
